Wimbledon 2007 - Day 5

Greetings Readers

My girl has gotten eliminated this morning (well, our morning).

Now, I am listening to Safin vs Federer on Winbledon radio on www.wimbledon.org and let me tell you - this match is great! We have gotten the thrown racket and the yelling in Russian. I can not wait to watch this match tonight.

Gonzalez has also been eliminated. Blake is gone also. Peer - eliminated.

Monfils (pictured today) has advanced to the next round. Yes, he was all over the court. Many would say why waste so much effort. Save some strength for the later rounds. He should not do these "fancy" moves. But readers - Monfils is exciting. I hate to say this, but he is like the "female" version of Kim Cjlisters. He's got moves. If the TV gives him a chance on TV catch a match and I bet you will be impressed by how Monfils moves on the court.

I really have nothing to blog about so I am most likely call it day.

Oh, Safin just yelled (I think the yell could have been heard back in Moscow) in frustration! Oh, I can not wait.

Until the next time

Wimbledon 2007 - Day 3

Greetings Readers

I got settled down last night and watched the Henman vs Moya continuation match and I was ready to see what transpired. I had listened to the match on radio Wimbledon so I know who won and was able to put some of the announcing I heard to what was I saw last night on my tape.

I am not going to say the match was "awesome" but the feeling was phenomenal. I would have loved to be there on Henman's Hill. I do not want sound like everyone else, but I do have to say that seeing the people on Henman's Hill and all the "Brits" cheering for a "Fallen Athlete" brought me to attention. I would even say there was a feeling of being proud for Henman. Here was Tim. Tim in the past years has fallen from the top of the game, but not forgotten. There are the commentators, such as that Mary C., who would say something "nice" in the current match and then say something "mean" like Henman needs to get off the court. Or I heard last night that people actually called on "Henman" to retire since he could not play well anymore.

Now readers, I hate those "comments" the commentators, the same people, who are so bias and one sided in the commentating. I just had to write this since this still bothers me when Mary C's fucking mouth opens. I digress...

I wanted Henman to win. I know of Henman in the past, but I do not follow him.

Yet, this match captured my attention since Tim is a Brit, it is Wimbledon, Murray is out, and England needs "a hero" to do good at Wimbledon. He played good, but not well. Moya was the same. A lot of serve and volley. And a lot of at net action. In one case of at net action the ball did not hit the ground until after four hits from each player. Boom-boom-boom-boom then point won.

The action picked up in the fifth set at 9/9. Henman and Moya both wanted the win so badly, but contained their emotions. The only emotion from Henman was the shaking of his fist ever so slightly. A silent subdue fist shake, but a very, very unsaid "Come on!" (as Mr Hewitt would yell)

In the end - Henman won and the fans in centre court and Henman's Hill stood and cheered for their "gentleman". Congrats. Thank you for getting Wimbledon off to the first "good" match of the week. Granted, it took two days to complete, but well worth the drama.

This morning, I heard that my girl has once again won and has advanced onto the next round! Boo-yah. Wimbledon is currently in rain delay and I am not sure if it has been lifted. I think that the delay happened about 2 hours ago.

Today's picture on my blog is me. Yep - me. My blog from yesterday made the special highlighted blog section of the blog page. Pretty cool to see me and my blog on the webpage being singled out. Woo Hoo

I visited three different bike station on the Ride to Work day. Granted, I bike to work everyday, but this is the first time that I actually registered for the event. I even got to stop at some of the bike stations for the first time. Nothing really special - but got a couple of free bagels, ice teas, tool kit, reflectors, a 1 day pass at a gym, button and little other misc things. So, instead of my usual 6.04 mile trip I went 12 miles this morning.

Until the next time

A Suicide in Denver - was he Guilty?

Greetings Readers

"
She is like a blade”

That is what a grocery clerk said to me while taking my post ride stop in front of Barnes & Nobles in the Araphoe Market Center on Sunday afternoon. At first I did not hear him since I was listening to my iPod with both earpieces in my ears. I said “I’m sorry I could not hear you” He said “She’s like a blade.” I did not know what to say. He then followed up by saying “That is a nice bike you have” I bet you could pick her up like this” He held his hand out, palm out with one finger extended. I nodded and said “yes, you could”

I can not say that was respect nor can I say that he was recognizing. Even as I am typing this up on my laptop I still can not figure out if there is any sort of meaning. The only thing that really I can say is that sort of comment is what makes my day. Hell, let us say week. You buy something nice - people do recognize quality.

Did anyone read the headline of the front page of the Sunday paper this weekend? The paper I am talking about is the one distributed in Denver, Colorado.

Apparently, on Friday June 22, 2007 a former Denver City Attorney was found dead in a City Park. I decided to read the article since I remembered the name and also the story behind the person who was found dead on Friday.

Anyway, the first four paragraph of the article kind of sums up the “gist” of the article. “Anger and Sadness” by the people who knew the person. The next paragraph states the “good words” about this person. The third paragraph sums up the current events leading up to this person’s death. Finally, and what I think that this paper was basing this entire article on was “I think the media and the DA focused on facts that were not germane to what (this person) was charged with” said Rosemary Rodriguez, US Election Assistance Commissioner.

Then, the story is continued in the back pages of the paper, turn to such and such page. When I finally got to the page I needed - I read the words in quotes “Beloved and loyal” and “Outstanding (person), a great lawyer” Get the fuck out of here! Here is this paper attempting to make a whole page in their paper to, perhaps, give this person the “woe is me” or “it is soo sad that this person took their life” effect.

Again, this is only my opinion after reading the story. Of course, this view was pretty evident after reading the article, in its entirety. The paper’s writers were “careful” not to report the story from their view, but to put in their paper quote after quote from everyone to their great grandfather (I am being sarcastic, but why don’t you readers count how many people’s quotes make up the article). Quotes from the deceased’s lawyer, a statement from the family, the LARASA (Latin America Research & Service Agency), the Latino/a Research Policy Center at the University of Colorado and a few other people towards the end of the article. I am assuming that we readers should “feel sorry” for this person.

Not only are we reading “beloved” “talented” “did so many good things” ”a role model” describing this person we also read a quote “It’s a bad time to be a Hispanic in trouble in this city.” Was the paper trying to make us readers feel more empathy for this person, by playing “the race card”? You decide.

But readers, what it come down to – the person was charged with three felony counts in the theft of a laptop computer. Now my readers, I know not the whole story nor the “facts”, but according to what I read and found on this person – there was not a single charge of a misdemeanor charge made in this “alleged theft” Also, I do not know how “big” affidavits are, but the affidavit against this person was 80 pages long. 80 pages people – think about that.

On the opposite page of the article the paper lists the timeline of the person and then there is another article, fairly short, about how this person was “treated by the press and …unnecessarily savaged by the prosecution” stated by a long time friend.

You readers may agree with the quotes used in these two articles, but please keep in mind that this person was being charged with three felony charges.

I now go back to the quote that was used in the Sunday paper and in my blog “I think the media and the DA focused on facts that were not germane to what (this person) was charged with”. That word – germane. I sort of had an idea that I knew what the word meant, but I had to know the definition. According to Webster – Germane means - closely or significantly related; relevant; pertinent. So readers I write to you – All these quotes used in these two articles from “John Doe” to “Jane Somebody” are not germane to the felony charges that were filed.

From the Sunday’s paper timeline “Jefferson County District Attorney Scott Storey files three felony charges against (this person) alleging he stole a computer, used it to download images and movies, many of which were sexually explicit and tried to cover his tracks when confronted by police. This person is booked and released on a personal recognizance bond”

Yes, I have an opinion and my opinion has not changed since I heard “the story” of how this laptop was obtained. What also solidifies my opinion is the way this person died. To me, again in my opinion, that is guilty.

However, we are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Readers, I do not have an update on Wimbledon for you. I was watching WWE last night and apparently, at that time, the news was that Chris Benoit was found dead with his wife and son in their home. So, last night's 3 hour show was devoted to Chris Benoit. I was unable to watch any Wimbledon, since by then the evening was late and I was really not into the mood of watching tennis.

I did catch this morning's Wimbledon's tennis match and yes (pictured on today's blog) Marat Safin played this morning. I had to leave for work so I did not get to see the rest of the match. Yes, listening to radio Wimbledon and I heard that he won. Woo Hoo. Safin - The Russian - Nope, no fireworks this morning, but readers this is the first round. He was sort of passe, but it sort of looked like he was trying to get worked up to get angry. But he didn't. Gotta love this guy - the announcers and fans go to his match to see which Safin will show up - 6'5" of anger or could-care attitude.

Until the next time readers

The Start of Wimbledon 2007

Greetings Readers

I was up before five this morning to "wake up" to Wimbledon only to hear that the event was in Rain delay.

However, by the time that I got to work and got settled the Wimbledon radio had started broadcasting the matches that had started after the rain delay. And Wimbledon radio "sucks". I am used to the guys that I heard at Roland Garros. Spoiled more like it. These announcers were okay, but not the same - not even close. Even the banter was kookie. These announcers actually had a conversation about how the people who cover the courts with a tarp "were caught off guard" or "not looking" Who in the fuck cares about whether these "tennis court tarp coverers" got caught off guard. And really - do the announcers need to make it sound like the end of the world. Or like this was so "highly important news"

My girl, Hingis, gave me a scare and I was worried that she was going to be out of the Grand Slam in the first round. So, that is a picture of her that is gracing my blog today. Yes, I have to say that I had to listen to the matches today, but I also started a tape to record today's matches.

Wimbledon is the least favorite Grand Slam of mine. I do watch, but it only depends on my mood during the year. If the draws or stories are not to my liking then I will not watch nor will I even tape any of the matches.

I do have more, but I really have to get going and I will catch up with you readers tomorrow.

Until the next time

One Year of Blogging

Greetings Readers

Sorry, I thought today was the anniversary of me blogging on blogger or anywhere, but I guess it was June 20. Well, well, well looks like I survived a year in blogging, even though it took about a six months for me to feel comfortable writing to the internet surfers.

Today's picture is from the album of W.A.S.P. the metal that I love to listen to.

The heiress is suppose to get out of jail on Monday. Also the start of Wimbledon.

I was riding out a bit late last night and stopped by the store and the liquor store. So, I was leaving the grocery store and started to head over to the liquor store. I pass by some teenagers and I see/hear this girl calling somebody to "come here now". The girl was a bit chubby, young and not cute. Anyway, I heard/saw this, but ignored this as another event I could care less about.

I walked into my local liquor store and browsed the coolers. I decided to get some wheat beer. I was in and done in about 5 minutes. Well, as I getting ready to ride home. I hear a girl talking loudly and the start of crying/whining was coming from the right of me. I had to readers, I just had to look. Guess what - it was that non-cute girl. I guess the person she called was her "boyfriend"! Shit! Well, was her "boyfriend". Damn. This guy broke up right in front of the liquor store.

As my old boss Rog would say "Sucks to be you" and laugh.

Meanwhile, I have "Tiesto" blasting on my Ipod into my left ear. I couldn't help it. I started to laugh. I felt a bit, I mean a bit - minute - sorry for her. But damn - she deserved this by telling him to "come here now" Well, not even thirty seconds later the sobs started and I hear the guy saying "Don't cry". I nearly lost my laughter control button. I immediately got onto my bike and rode off laughing.

You know it is funny - teenage love.

Yet, ten minutes earlier I was pissed off. I went into the grocery store to get a money order and I clearly stated "I need a money order for 64.45" Well, this girl looks at me goes over to a machine then she goes to the money order machine and then looks at me and.... "How much you want the money order for?" Fuck me. I was not happy. Whatever she was doing before she asked the magic question took about 10 seconds. In fucking 10 seconds she forgot the amount of the money order.

After she asked me "I looked at her for about five seconds" In that moment of silence I was pondering/thinking what recourse I should choose. Not what, but which way to go. I got the "pissed off deep voice" from my diaphragm and said "I need a money order for 64.45" She had the look of a scared bunny rabbit. I was ready to say any retort - if she or her assistant decided to ask me some other question that does not pertain to my money order transaction. I was literally ready to rumble. What a dumn fuck behind the counter. Granted readers, I have not seen her behind the counter before, but damn people how in the fuck can she forget my money order total in 10 seconds and then had to audacity not to say "excuse/ pardon me..." then ask her question. That that is what I consider being rude and I that was really what got me ready to "throw down".

In closing, I got money order from her which I made her deliberately lay down on the counter and her assistant gave me my change back.

Until the Next time

99 degrees in Denver

Greetings readers

Denver was 1 degree away from the magic number of 100 degrees yesterday.

You know readers I have nothing to really talk about. I am still working on my Greenwood Goosechase story.

I realize I have some open ended stories. I guess I am starting to follow in the footsteps of the Soprano's. Of course, this was subsciously done on my part. I did not do this on purpose. Anyway, I guess I need to return to the story of Oscar's Smokehouse and "the fucked up dairy cow" that I still see outside their restaurant when I bike by there every other day. Though, I am going to have to revisit my first part of the story to see were I left off, but I do not think that there is much to say after that.

A few more withdraws from Wimbledon (from AP) - Mario Ancic withdrew from Wimbledon on Thursday because of a continuing illness, and Li Na pulled out with a rib injury. Anastasia Myskina, the 2004 French Open champion, previously had withdrawn, along with Vera Zvonareva, Zheng Jie and Romina Oprandi. On the men's side, Gaston Gaudio, Xavier Malisse, Jurgen Melzer, Paradorn Srichaphan and Jose Acasuso have withdrawn.

"Yeah! I saw that. I did it" - Detective John McClane. I have to admit I am getting excited to see "him" in action once more. Live free or Die Hard

2007 Summer Solstice - 4:06 PM MST

Greetings Readers

I caved in last night and bought a medium Pan Pizza - Meat Lover's Pizza. Damn, that was good and I enjoyed every bite I took. Gluttony and yes I felt like that after a few slices.

Last night the heat could be felt in my humble abode. Nope. I still did not turn on the AC. Yes, I could have, but I am being "hard headed" and will only when it gets too hot. I woke up sort or sweaty, sticky, but not too bad. I had the portable fan blowing in air from outside so it made the night nice. Although this morning the air was cool and I so wanted to stay in bed and actually close my eyes for another hour. Alas, I have to go to work.

I bought another Tiesto album last night from Best Buy. I was able to locate the album "Just Be". I finally have the song that I wanted which is "Just Be" Otherwise, most of the other songs are available on the other CD's that I bought recently. And I still have five more coming from Amazon.com in three shipments. I really have gotten into Tiesto.

So, me & LaMont when over to Samurai Sam's in Lonetree, CO (9231 West Lincoln). and had ourselves a nice lunch, courtesy of me. Lunch was good.

Getting to the point of the story. So, I got the rest of my "big" meal to go since I did not finish. While eating I had put on some salt and pepper from those small packets and yes I made a mess. I threw my empty packets off to the side of my bowl. Meanwhile, I bagged my lunch with some napkins and plastic fork. Then, LaMont says "aren't you gonna clean up your empty salt/pepper packets?" Not even blinking,"I said why should I there those people behind the counter who are here to do this. They are here getting paid for doing their job. I do not come into this place to eat and clean up after myself. etc...."

As I was getting on this "rant" er "point" LaMont's stern face slowly turned into smile and laugh. I immediately stopped talking and looked at him and got what he was doing. He asked that question because he knew that I would go off, so to speak. Yes, he got his laugh at my expense. Yes, I did also and did not realize that was intention.

Granted, I do not have that reasoning I just wrote, but most of the time I do. I know that we, as a society, view/treat fast food place differently from Restaurants. We tip at restaurants, but not at fast food places. We order like we are Kings/Queens of the manor at fast food joints while at restaurants we sort of order like squires. This is being general, of course. There are people like me who feel like kings everywhere they go. Not because I can, but damn people I want my order the way I want it. Not the way the menu, board says. If I want Fries instead of Onion rings - Then I want fries. More importantly - if I say "I want only mustard, lettuce, pickles on my hamburger, and that's it." That means that's it. Do not ask if I want cheese. I said "that's it" and that means "that's it" You can ask me over and over and I will be silent as a mute. Unless I am feeling pretty frisky and then I will ask you question "What did I just say?"

Of course after that I have to stand in view of my hamburger so no one will spit or do something else to get revenge on me.

Well, I better not get into this subject now, but I will return to this later.

Until the next time readers.

On the eve of Summer

Greetings Readers

Is there a veterinarian around here? Cause my pythons are sic."

Now, you have to imagine me flexing my biceps. Hah hah. Of course the "pythons" are my Biceps. That was the first that I heard that saying and I used it all day. Yes, I know that it was stupid, but I just had to say that since that really made me laugh and smile when I heard that saying.

Boy oh boy, I slept like a baby last night. Went to lay down on the couch for a while, while listening to National Lampoon's European Vacation on AMC and the next thing you know it is 11 PM and then I got up for a few minutes and then the next thing you know it is 4:30 AM. I was a bit sore when I woke, but I was able to move pretty good.

That is until I got to work this morning. So I was about to jump into the shower and I was getting ready to take off my biking jersey when I couldn't. I was making the move as if you were hugging yourself. I was in that position then proceeded to lift my jersey up and off. Ouch. I was in pain. I think I actually felt a tear come from eye and roll down my cheek. No pain no gain. But I do not know why I did not notice until I got to work. Oh, I made it, but boy oh boy I was, er am in some pain.

Five. - 5. - five. Yes, five days left til Wimbledon.

Oh, Ivan Basso got a 2 year ban from professional cycling. I know the news is old, but the Giro D'Italia champion is Danilo Di Luca. Sorry readers I do not know who the fuck he is.

And today's picture on the blog.... Well, if there are any viewers who watch some certain events then this person is known. Period. Sort of like our "Barrel man" that retired just recently.

The Start of a Minor "Heat Wave"

Greetings Readers

Sorry, have been catching up on my sleep and rest. Was a pretty busy weekend of riding and also I have been busy doing some personal stuff, which I will not bore with you readers.

I worked out today at the Gym (24 hours) courtesy of... "Bobby Rae" Yeah, that's her name. I really enjoyed the workout and not to mention the post work out meal - The Planet Sub. I actually liked the Sub.

I did a total workout and I might have worked more that I should of, but it was the first time that I have gone to a gym, in a while, and I wanted to take care of some serious workout on the machines that I have available.

We, meaning Denver, CO is on the verge of a "heat wave" that might last for the next four days or so. When I mean heat wave - I mean about 90's. Nothing like the Texas "Heat waves", but it will be hot, without the humidity.

Cycling sucked yesterday evening. I was sort in a good mood since I was able to leave work at a decent time. So, I was about 75 to 100 yards from work when I ran over a rock or some debris. When guess what readers, not one flat, but two flats. I was not mad. I mean how could I get mad over something like this. I immediately pulled over and started to get to work on fixing the flats. No big deal. Got done in about 15 minutes. Then about 30 minutes later, the back tire did not take to being repaired. Granted, I was going about 25 miles per hour and I was taking a left turn when all of a sudden I felt the tire go flat.

Then, that was when the cussing started in the community that I was near. I did not see anyone within sight of me and my flat, but there were some backyards and if anyone was in the back you bet sure as shit - they heard - "Son of a Bitch, Motherfucker, God Damn, Shit!" being yelled by me. Why? Well, the tires were fixed, I had dinner that I picked up at the BBQ place called "Bono's" and I had a rack of rib and some french fries. And you know readers when fries get cold they are no good. So that was the reason I was pissed. I needed to get home ASAP so my fries are still edible.

Long story short, I semi-fixed the flat, but I had to stop three times to refill the tire and towards the last 50 yards of reaching home or so I rode on the flat tire. Yes, there was some damage to the tire itself, but my ribs, baby back ribs, were more important than my $ 50.00 dollar tire. Go figure my train of thinking on that issue.

Tonight, is the last episode of the Deadliest Catch - Season 3.

I guess one more thing - I do not think that I mentioned this to you readers, but this is the new license plate (pictured on my blog) that most likely will be issued for next year - they new 2000 signees before production happens. My thoughts - It is ok, but I would not get the plate. I agree "share the road"... but that is like saying "remember Columbine"

Happy Father's Day

Greetings Readers

I am not going to say much. I did the Greenwood Goosechase in Greenwood Village, CO on Saturday. Yes - me and Rebecca tore up the course. Well, perhaps not, but it was the first official ride of the year and the first official ride for Rebecca. She performed perfect. I was a bit winded here and there, but not for the reason you probably think. Sorry readers, I will post the after ride journal this week.

Happy Father's day to my Father.

On Friday I was at the Grocery Store, King Soopers, and as I was getting ready to bike home. There was this family with two little daughters. The four, or perhaps three, year old daughter says, yells, to me "I like your shirt!" I said "Thank you very much."

Readers, do you even have to guess which bike jersey I was wearing!? I sure hope not. Or else Cartman will be pissed. Then, at the Greenwood Goosechase, a couple of volunteers also made comments on my jersey. Two years in a row and the jersey still gets the comments. Boo-yah!

Then after going home, I decided to go to the local bike store. I bought some odometers and then I noticed they had another bike like the one that I bought a couple of months ago. Guess who is 107.35 richer?! Me. My bike store has a 90-day guarantee that they will match or refund the difference on the bike if the price changes from 90 days of your purchase. That second piece of the evening even made the evening more sweeter.

Also readers, if any of you missed the first season of Dr Who they have just started running on PBS. For you folks in Denver, Co - it is at 9 or 10 PM on Friday night on Channel 6. That is Christopher Eccleston the 9th Dr Who. I actually did care for him in the first episode. You know trying to compare any other Dr Who to Tom Baker as Dr. Who is unthinkable. Yet, I gave him a chance and sure enough I got to liking him.

Hah hah.

Well, time for me to get going.

Until the next time

Thursday nite listening to Trance

Greetings Readers

So music soothes the beast. I guess you, or even myself, could say that happened last night. I took my time biking home last night and even made a stop before going home.

I pulled the Tiesto CD's from my library and decided to listen to Tiesto. Whether I am on a bike or not Tiesto is music that I can feel "at peace" with. The tranquility of the music and not to mention the ambieance of the tunes is why I like his music/re-mixes.

The CD that I chose last night was Nyana. I am not sure how to start or even begin. I am not sure how I heard of DJ Tiesto, but I think that I heard the song "Just Be" Funny thing was that I heard the song on Nip / Tuck and someone else had did the cover of the song. Yet, at that time I did not know DJ Tiesto did the song. So, I was looking, but not really looking for the singer of the song. I did not try hard, but I did not find and soon forgot.

Then after a time, I was in the Borders store and I saw the Album cover for Nyana and thought to myself hmmm. Tiesto was on the cover and he looked "normal" and the pose was just an every day pose. He was not posing for the album or anyone else. I also saw a few other albums by Tiesto in the bin so I thought to gamble and buy the CD. After all, what do I have to lose and it is not a problem if I do not like I can always give to my brother. I listened to the two CD's in the Nyana CD and surprised. How did an artist like this ever get by my radar?! I wish to say that Tiesto is Trance, but there are so many other artist in the Trance section I can not say that.

Now, months later I am buying up all the Tiesto and DJ Tiesto CD's that I can find. And now, I think that I have reached my limit so I have turned (clicked) to the Amazon.com website to see what I can find. Last night, I visited the website and there are CD's galore. So, I think I am going to go on a spending spree and get me some more of my favorite music.

Do I have favorite, favorite song? Yes and no, but currently it is "Dance4Life". I like the song for the music, but not for the lyrics. I do not dislike the lyrics, but to tell the truth I am not paying attention to the lyrics except when "dance for life" is spoken and then how can you not notice that saying. Oops, sorry readers, this song is from the new CD Elements of Life. The song is "awesome" (Again I use that word since I heard an old co-worker use over and over), but in truth the song does not start for me until the 3:23 mark of the song. Yet, the opening song from 0:00 to 0:56 is also good. Yes, I know I am being critical, but at least I am being honest.

Then, the overall album is okay, but the song theme does not really electrify me.

There are so many songs I like by Tiesto. Sanctificum, The Anthem, Paradise, Destiny Sunrise (one of my really favorites), Requiem for a Dream, Heroes, Ancient History, Athena, Everything (another really favorite), Malibu Beach, LAX, and so on.

Well, time for me to go.

Until the next time

Doing puzzles to "block out" issues

Greetings Readers

Puzzles - I like doing Sudoku puzzles, my 5000 puzzle pieces I am still working on and then my current Playstation 2 game - Gods of War.

I guess I am in the mood to keep my brain from thinking about things I need to "LIG" If I start watching TV I start to drift from the TV show and then I get to thinking and then I might get myself worked up thinking more and more about the issue.

Anyway, I am playing God of War and really enjoying the puzzle aspects of the game. Enjoying the puzzle part and the game itself is a bonus. I thrive on challenges.

You know readers, this subject is really out there, but does pertain to something current, but needed to, in a way, to write down something/anything without actually mentioning what/why.

Yes, I am being cryptic, but due to the people that know I have a blog, this will be an easy way for someone to see "what's up Mr. C"

Me and Rebecca rode in together this morning. She has not been out for a few weeks. The weather is suppose to be sunny and clear so that is why she went out today. Which reminds me - This is the first time ever that I have registered for "the Bike to Work Day". Of course I gave them my PO Box address. Where I live is a secret and does not concern anyone unless I am getting a little something-something. Whew. I finally put a smile on my face.

Of course, what does not help is something else happens and that just adds to the issues already in hand.

I am rambling readers. It is not fair to you so I am going to close this entry out and we will begin with a new page tomorrow. And this is also the reason why I did not make an entry yesterday. Needed some time to not to think, so to speak. Also, I am really fucking pissed off and it is getting worse my the hour. I think I might have to have an evening ride around Cherry Creek Reservoir. I got to get this chip off my shoulder.

Until the next time

Tuesday's Worthless Blog Info

Greetings Readers

Supposely, today temperature will only be in the 70's. A bit of a nice break since we have had sort of hot weather, but not that hot.

Two days in the row I have had someone pull out in front of me while biking down North on Park Meadows Drive. I can not fucking believe it. I had the right of way in both cases. So, I was pissed last night since I once again locked up my brakes and skidded on my back tire and laid some rubber from my very expensive road tires onto the pavement of Park Meadows drive. Just urks me. I caught to both offenders at the stop light at Yosemite, but I did not go "off". I so wanted to, but I thought what good was that gonna do. I thought and thought last night and came up with a plan which is now effective immediately. So fair warning if you cut me off your car will suffer the same sort of abuse that you cause on my tires for braking not to hit you.

No, I am not angry. Sure I was angry in the moment, but I got over it later that evening. This cyclist gets angry, as any normal person would do, but this is something that will not go on unnoticed. Also, I was riding my next to last least inexpensive bike so I really do not have nothing to lose.

I decided to stop by Chik-fil-A and get my Gallon of Sweet Tea. There was Rafael getting my Gallon of Sweet Tea ready before I even got into the door. Damn - Respect. I got my smile after my "little" almost incident with the car and was able to calm down the rest of the way home.

I do not feel like blogging so I am going to say...

After the last Soprano's episode

Greetings Readers

The men's French Open 2007 Finals went down as expected. Nadal was able to take down Federer once more. Roger was able to win one set. I hate to say this readers I was doing good watching the match, then the start of the third set. Nadal pulled his shorts out of his ass for three of out of the four times serving the opening set. From there on I could not watch. So, I had to turn off the TV and just listen to the play by play via the stereo.

Well, I am not sure how long the not knowing is going to last, but everyone is talking about the Soprano's. Television and some of my co-workers are commenting about the episode. Overall, I did hear it ended with a whimper. I know not more than that. I am not sure how long it will last, but I am thinking I need to know what transpired.

I fell into the life with the Soprano's and ever since that faithful day I have been a fan ever since. Tony, Carmella, AJ, Meadow - as well as Paulie and Uncle Junior to name a few. I am not saying that I was part of their life or they were part of my life, but I had a sense of a family that I could relate to. Meaning - dysfunctional. I think that there is no normal family, but those who accept that there is no normal family and the others that believe there is a "Tooth Fairy". Or one could say that ignorance is bliss. To that I will add - that is fine.

I guess I could write on and on, but then I would probably bore you readers about the Soprano's. I am not going to say that this was the best show, nor am I going to recommend the show to anyone. The episodes were good, for the most part. The characters were developed good. You cared and also hated the characters - whether they were part of the family or not. I hated some characters, but I also loved some characters. Though, I hated some endings of some episode - Example - the Russian that was shot by Christopher in the forest when Paulie and Christopher had to go and find the Russian. What really happened to the Russian? Anyway, that is one of many open plot lines that most likely will never get answered.

Today's picture is of the Bada-Bing. I will not say that I liked the Bada Bing for the Strippers. I liked the Bada Bing because that is where Tony held "court". In front and in the back of the club. I thought about using the Soprano's logo or using one of the characters from the show as the picture, but I thought to use the Bada-Bing.

Attention all you Dr Who Fans, the third season begins this July, July 6, 2007 is the start date of the third season. As I mentioned before, I am not a fan of David Hennant (I think that is his name) since I gotten use to Christopher Eccleston, as the Doctor in the first season. I did not like the change, but as the repeats were replayed on the Scifi channel I have started to accept the new Doctor. And as far as I know the current Doctor will be back, but I do not think that Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), will be back since her return to the Doctor is impossible, according to the show's episode last season.

I hope that there will be others items / things from the past in the third season. When I mean the past, I mean the 80's Doctor Who era. I thoroughly enjoyed the second season season - seeing Daleks, K-9 and the.. shoot I can not remember their names... the "robot" men. K-9 was great to see - a nice touch to honor the forgotten. I remember K-9, but the for the life of me I can not recall any detailed info in the shows that I watched when I was young. I just remember K-9 (canine) and thought was neat play on words and the character of K-9.

The "new" Doctor Who series remembers what we faithful followers loved about the show from the 80's. Yet, the most important thing the creators did not alter, on the outside, is the Tardis (The Blue Police Box with the light on top). The Tardis and the sound effects associated to the Tardis is what made Dr Who known worldwide in the realm of Science Fiction.

The French Open 2007 - Day 14

Greetings Readers

Well, I can not put either picture of today's winner of the Women's final at Roland Garros. Why? I have already use both of their pictures from this Grand Slam. As I knew - Justin Henin took the match with really no problem. There is really nothing else I can say. I would not say that Ana was over matched. I would go on the record this is her first Grand Slam Final. So, I am sure that the nerves played a "big" factor in the match. The serve toss from Ana is what signaled to met that Ana was on edge.

I do not take anything away from Justine. She played how she needed to play and more important she played the way she has been playing the entire Grand Slam. When I saw the match this morning "Live", it only took 3:48 seconds for the announcer to talk about Henin and divorce. Gosh darn - can they not get over it?!

Changing Gears, I want to say that the Space Shuttle Atlantis lifted off from the Space Center on Friday and she was a beautiful site to behold. I am displaying a picture from the Nasa site (not sure which org.)

I hope to one day see a shuttle lunch live in the future. (pictured today on my blog) But that I do not know.

The Space Shuttles are an amazing piece of work and engineering feat.

I remember seeing my first launch on TV (January 28, 1986 11:40 AM) and I remember seeing the shuttle (Space shuttle Challenger) explode on TV when I was in Junior High. The school brought in TVs into the cafeteria and I remember seeing the huge white cloud of smoke in the blue sky and then you see the two booster rockets flying from the cloud. Sorry readers I am getting a little teary eyed thinking about this event. 73 seconds after launch...

I just went to the website and looked at the information that I never knew to even look at with the internet so common place. Here is the link http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/shuttle/shuttlemissions/archives/sts-51L.html They give mission name, launch stats, etc. I guess all us readers who were around that time only new one name that was common among every student in school. Sharon Christa MaAuliffe. In the time after the accident we got to learn about all the crew members.

Then, February 1, 2003 Space Shuttle Columbia breaks up over the southern part of the United States. I really remember that day. I was transfixed by watching the live picture. Seeing the pictures on TV really hit home for me. I knew there was no way that the crew could survive that re-entry. The Columbia was America's first shuttle to be launched into space.

Readers, I do not mean this in any sort of demeaning way or disrespect the lives of the crew, but I only and still do care about the destruction of the Shuttle Columbia. Even to this day I do not know the names of the crew. Seeing the destruction of the shuttle over New Mexico and then I think the eventual demise in Texas was so surreal. One would say that it is just a machine, a craft. But she was so much more. I think that a person like me who like Science and Space really did cry for the lost of the Shuttle as oppose the crew, first most, then perhaps the crew.

I guess why I am sharing this thought is because I want us Americans not to give up on space travel, or more importantly, for the Space program to be put "on hold" or whatever they think until a more better, safer way is devised.

I would hate for the United States not to become like France when they discontinued the flight of the Concorde. The Concorde was another interest of mine when I was young. The sleek white shape of the aircraft, the movable front nose, the wings, the engines. And then to see the picture of the Concorde crashing to her demise - Wow. And not wow that was "awesome", but wow something surreal seeing something of beauty fall from the sky in a ball of flame. Supersonic flight. Will we readers hear that term used to another aircraft? I do not know. July 25, 2000 - almost seven years ago.

The French Open 2007 - Day 13

Greetings Readers

Today's picture is of a winner, even though he lost to Nadal in the semi's. Novak Djokovic. Again, one of the "ovic"

I was listening to Roland Garros radio on their website. Let me tell you readers - those guys who do the commentation is a breath of fresh air. I could not stop laughing while I was working away at work. These two brought the live match into my head. And I have to say this - I did not have to watch any of Nadal pulling at his shorts from his butt. Why? Why? Why does he do this? I do not know if he is from "the streets" or what, but everytime I see that gesture it is so disgusting to see on tv. Why? Why? Why?

I do not think I have mentioned this to you readers, but I think the problem with Nadal's short pulling is that either Nadal is not wearing any underwear or he is wearing a thong. Of if he getting sweaty in there, put some deorderant down there. I do not know. Or give the Thong a break Nadal and put on some briefs or something.

I think that is the other reason why I do not care for Nadal.

Oops, I digressed.... radio roland garros was good. The play by play good and they even had time to read emails that are sent in to them from the listeners all over the world. I now will take those two over Mary C and F, Dick, John, Bob and those other announcers who are always so bias in their commentating and using those same words over and over. Especially that "s -" word that is eight letters long.

"1.54 pm: Janie red's gone back to whispering, Tamara's sent be a virtual paracetamol and Marietta is keeping her newborn quiet, all for my benefit. You spoil me, you really do. Wocket Woger is now spoiling us too - races through a service game and he's ahead for the first time in this match. multimedia@fft.fr if you want to e-chat with me or Chris and Sandra who are currently commenting up a storm on Wadio Woland Gawwos.'

The radio Roland Garros announcers did great play by play and were serious, but then they talk and something would be said and the next thing you know I am laughing out loud making my co-workers wonder what the hell is he laughing at. If you readers get the chance please go to the website Saturday and Sunday and click on live radio. Better yet, mute the sound on the tv and put on radio Roland Garros on your computer, hook up via stereo and listen to them while watching the match.

I just wish that I found out about them when the tournament started last week. I tuned in yesterday since I wanted to know what was going on after the "beat down" in Paris. Once I get in the zone of tennis I must have it. Hah hah. I did watch the Henin vs Ivanovic match this morning, but hearing the play by play yesterday was very different from Mary C and Dick. And I do not have to hear Nadal / Federer every other sentence from Mary C. Nor her favoritism. Or her making excuses for players that lost that should not have lost, when in fact the player did not play well. Enough said.

So, I listened to both matches this morning and I got my tennis fix. No readers, I did not tape today's matches. I knew the outcome was what it was going to be. But, Davydenko sure did put a fight with Federer. Who knew Davydenko, the Russian would come this far.

The French Open 2007 - Day 12

Greetings Readers

About 7:10 AM Mountain Time my favorite pesky "ova" got the boot from the French Open 2007. Boo-yah! Fucking straight that I am happy. I even expressed this thought by yelling out my living room window "Maria got her ass beat Ta-Day!" I am sure my neighbors were not amused. But I am sure that they were all awake when the match started a little past 6:00 AM this morning. Oh, yes I was taping it and was planning to watch the match tonight, but I saw the beginning of the match and I knew that another "beat down" was going to happen and this time it will be in France, as opposed to Australia. Yep, I can still see parts of the Australian "beat down" on Maria's ass. Not. But, mentally I can see the A-u-s-t-r- on one cheek. hah hah. yes, if she were to turn around I would see a-l-i-a on the right cheek.

The "beat down" was 6-2 and 6-1. Total domination on Ivanovic. That is the picture that graces my blog today. She deserves her spot on my blog for this is the first time on my blog. I was impressed by her play, but I have seen and watched past matches so I knew what she was capable of.

The match was clean. No melodrama from the "ova" I sort of knew that nothing major was going to happen. I found out that Henin won (via Radio Roland Garros). I was sort of "hoping" for a Ivanovic vs Ivanovic final, but I know Henin can demolish opponents at the Roland Garros courts. And Henin did 6-2, 6-2. Jelena best recognize Justine.

Dick and Mary were the commentators of the Ivanovic vs Sharapova match and I am glad to see that they were speechless. Of course, they had to mention her "shoulder injury" and as Mary C would say "She had a deep cortisone shot", but not really saying that was the problem of Maria's play. I wish those two would not be so one-sided and give the other players more individuality as opposed to comparing to the other opponent. I hope that makes sense to you readers.

Anyway, time for me to go.

Until the next time

The French Open 2007 - Day 9,10

Greetings Readers

I am behind in watching the Tennis Matches of the French Open. Yes, I had to go to the official website to get myself caught up on the action. I see that Serena is out - beaten by Justine Henin (pictured on today's blog). Maria advanced. As well as Davydenko - the guy with that name. I am not prepared to write about the French Open so I am really summarizing what I know into this one paragraph.

Oh last week, I finally made the decision to turn in my mycokerewards points for a DVD player. Sure was a lot of points to give up, but at least I can say that I was able to fund that DVD purchase via Coca Cola Points. I got my DVD player, Tobisha, on Saturday. Basically, a "plain jane" model. I put the DVD player in my room and there she sits on top of the TV.

Apparently, I got the wrong fast food restaurant for a free burrito. I thought that the restaurant was Qdoba, but it was actually Chipotle. However, they were still able to honor me with that same deal. I bought three cans of chicken noodles and one can of spagetti (all were Campbell's brand) and it was about three dollars. I know a burrito is about $ 5.50 and I figured that I should at least donate half that amount. Yes readers, I thought about buying 5.oo dollars worth, but I didn't. I did buy the good stuff and not a can of carrots or cream of corn. As with SouthPark, Kenny's family is poor and they detest cream of something and that's just not right.

Anyway, as I got my burrito I handed over my bag of cans and he said I only need one to give to him. I said take them all. He said "thank you very much". Yes, I was standing pretty tall last night since I was the only one in line that gave more than one can and made everyone else take a second look at what they were giving in return for a burrito. I saw a can of black eye peas, carrots, etc. But I had chicken noodle soups and spagetti. I hope in the near future my CANS that I donated will keep a family from starving or from them saying "Dammit, another can of aspargus" I say that seriously and not in a joking matter. As with myself I never eat anything I do not like, therefore I would like not to give someone in need of food not the option to eat what I did not. That is shit and I am not sure how one could live with him/herself for doing that to someone less fortunate. As I was eating my burrito later that night I felt another redemption of past "sins"

What? Why did I not give something from my cabinet of can foods. Well, they are mine, they are all I like to eat and basically I would think that the cans from a Supermarket would be better and fresher than the cans I have in my food cabinet. And before any of you readers say anything to me you better have contributed more than one can yesterday. Otherwise, shut the fuck up. I did more than you did that day to help the less fortunate in a national collection food drive. You readers may done more in the past that I have done in one day, but I am only writing about yesterday's food drive.

Until the next time readers

Another Cyclist passes away

Greetings Readers

I am not sure how to react to another cyclist that passed away on June 2, 2007. I know not of the facts, but only what I can from another website that tell us readers "what happened".

Sorry readers, the cyclist was here in Colorado, so that is why I have a certain interest. I knew of Grayson Pointer, the cyclist that had an accident, but I did not know him as a friend Here is the entry from the blog that was set up at http://www.graysonpointer.blogspot.com/

What happened?
Early Friday morning, 05/25/07, Grayson was in an accident on his scooter at 19th and Glenarm. As he made a turn, his scooter hit the curb causing him to crash. During the accident, Grayson sustained serious injuries to his head and face. The emergency medical team at Denver Health Medical Center was able to stabilize his condition, but after a week in a coma his brain injuries proved too much for our dear friend. Grayson passed away a few minutes before 10am on Saturday, June 2nd surrounded by friends, family and his beloved wife, Lauren, at his side.

Now, I only know of him in name and yes it is sad that this has happened, but I have done the google, yahoo, rockymountainnews, denverpost searches, but I can not find any articles/news on this accident. Ususally there is something, a blurb, about a cyclist with the local news. I would like to know what happened. Was he spooked? Was there water in the turn? Did someone force him into the turn? Was he wearing a helmet? How fast was he going? Or yes readers I hate to say this, but was he not paying attention? I do not know.

There is not much more I can say on this subject. I do not know the facts nor is there any reports that I can research this accident. By the way readers in case you missed the facts of the story he was riding a scooter as opposed to a bike.

I guess, in thinking, would I be remembered after my demise? Most likely not. Does this matter to me now, thinking about it? No. I am content with myself. And as I stated some time ago there is a car with a name, my name, on it bumper. There is also a road with my name on its surface.

No French Open 2007 updates due to seriousness of today's blog entry.

until the next time readers.

The French Open 2007 - Day 8

Greetings Readers

I only saw one match yesterday and I was thoroughly disgusted with the way that it ended. If you French Open watchers watched yesterday match there was really one match that was pure horseshit on the handling of one player, in my opinion of course.

So, I got to watching the Sharapova vs Schynder match. Today's picture is of Patty Schynder. The match was good - Patty took the the first set, then Maria took the second set and then the third set begun.

First of all, I know of Patty, but I do not follow her game. I, of course, have to follow Maria, but only because she is playing the players that I have to watch.

Granted - there was a time that I adored Maria. I thought that she was a pretty good-looking Tennis player, but you guys know how it is. Once you get to know the girl/woman as oppose to the face and body well any sort of attraction that you may have has been turned off, because A. You know she is an idiot. or B. She thinks she's knows everything. or C. Her morals are not what you expected from her stature.

Yes, I wanted for Patty to beat Maria. And Patty was well on the path to victory, but then Patty did seem to lose her game. I am not going to speculate on what it might have been. You watchers probably heard that her game went bad - duh! Well both players started going bad to worst. You readers can come to your own decision.

So, there was the usual yelling, shouting before each serve and then before Maria served the ball a man yelled out and Patty immediately raised her hand in the air to signal stop/halt.

Now, I do not know the rules regarding yellers, hecklers, or whatever, but Patty did signal to the official and Maria that play should stop. Well, Maria served during the yelling. Patty did not move to return the serve since she had her hand up. The official either did not see it, or was officiating correctly. I do not know. Anyway, Patty was upset that the official called the point to Maria. Patty and the umpire argued and indicated that the point will stay to Maria.

While the arguement was ensuing. Maria was nowhere to be seen (on TV that is). We viewers do not know what she was looking or even indicating. Pure bullshit. Maria being the person she has become should of acknowledge that the point should be replayed or something. Again readers, I do not know the rules regarding this situation. I just don't know.

After the argument, Patty goes back to her court and then the crowd got to booing and jeering the call the umpire made. This went on for about 30 seconds to a minute. Meanwhile, Patty could only raise her hands to try and quiet the crowd. Oh man, I was pissed also. Un-fucking-believable. Yes readers, I am still pissed off about the call. You know this was sort of reminisces of a call years back regarding one of my favorite players that has since long retired. I was for her, but my girl did not confess that it was "wrong". Another story perhaps for another time.

The Patty vs Maria game after that calling was painful to watch. Patty went further down and I am betting that "the call" had alot to do that. Speculation, of course, on my part. One may say different if they were to watch the game.

And I bet the critics/writers today are going to say that this was a phenomenal game and Maria pulled an upset. Or something to that effect. But that is far from the truth. Maria got the bejessus kicked out of her in the first set. Then, after a medical break from Maria, she came back to beat Patty. Now, this was something that she sort of pulled in Australia. Only this time the medical break was due to her shoulder and not dehydration. Same results, after a lengthy break and basically making her opponent wait while Maria gets medical attention and do not forget - a rest and mental re cooperation her opponent gets restless and most likely loses "the zone" that she was in before the medical "time out"

The third set was good, but good that it was the demise of play between both players and the excitement was going to be Patty beating Maria. Patty did not convert three times and that was most of the problem why Maria won. Yet, during that last set and after the "ugly" call, Maria (and it was not her serve) stopped play went over to her bench to get a new racket. The announcers indicated that no strings were broken. This break took over 30 seconds and she drew a warning. Not only that - Maria drew boos and jeers from the crowd. This was not helping Maria to win the crowd since she did not help on the "ugly" call. Yes, this even pissed me off more. Again readers, sort of the same thing she was doing in Australia. When it was not Maria serve she would make the server wait while Maria would walk back to the back of her court where the shade was and then walk back. She did this on her opponent's serve almost every time.

In closing, after the match was over the applause was all for Patty and readers it was loud and clear. When Maria did her "blowing kissing victory" she drew the jeers and boos from the crowd. Even while Maria walked off, and she did very quickly mind you, she got booed. While Patty walked off, taking her time to sign autographs, she brought the house down. Clapping and cheering was in full volume. Even a quick camera shot of Maria showed her clapping for Patty, but that was only to get points from the already hostile crowd toward her.

Alright readers, my time is up so...

And do not forget "the riches" finale.

Until the next time

The French Open 2007 - Day 7

Greetings Readers

Well the smile from Jelena Jankovic (pictured on today's blog) sum's up the match against Venus Williams. Sure I am happy that Venus lost. I did not get to watch the entire match, but I did see some of the beat down in Roland Garros. The match 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 A fucking demolishment of Venus. Anyway, we faithful followers/watchers of the Women' s Tennis (WTA) know that Jelena is doing very well this year.

Yesterday was also the birthday of Justine Henin - she has reached the quarter of a century mark and well she is also getting up in age for a tennis player. Happy Birthday Justine from someone who does not "bad mouth" you like Mary Carillo and Mary Jo Fernandez. And yes I feel you can go tell those two "to go f%@* themselves". Nicely of course.

Look at that. Youzhny made the next round. Who does not like him after last year's US Open appearance. Mauresmo is gone. Too bad. Monfils vs Nalbandian - dang two players I like and I wanted both to advance, but only one did - Nalbandian was the winner. Dementieva - Gone. Baghdatis advances - and yes after the Austrailan Open years back he has gained a fan. A "ova" the Hantuchova has fallen. Peer is onto the next round. As well as Sharapova.

Well, that is a quick summary of selected players I follow. I have been out all morning so I have not been able to watch today's matches. I just had to know the winners and losers.

The last episode of "The Riches" is this Monday 6-4-07. I can not believe that we are down to the last episode. And it only seems like yesterday that I started to watch this show. More importantly, I almost did not give this show a chance. I am glad that I was able to record the show when it debut and watched the show later. I guess I can thank my then new Sony DVD Recoder. The title of the last episode is "Waiting for Dogot" and I was able to see a short scene on
www.fxnetworks.com.

Alright reader....
