The Amazing Race - update 2010

Greetings Readers

I am not sorry about not talking about the Amazing Race.

In the past two years - the Amazing Race has gotten "dull."

What I mean is that I do not want to fucking see a flaming Gay / Lesbian couple. I know flaming couples. And I do not want to see that on the Amazing Race. The Amazing Race is about racing. Not about the fucking lives of gay / lesbian couples on the race. Those gay / lesbian couples that are featured are over the top. Too fucking over the top for me.

The Amazing Race is about racing. Not about gay / lesbian couples showing disgust about "poop" coming out from an animal. That is something an animal can not control. Get over it.

Anyway, I hope the future Amazing Races focuses on the race - and not the gay / lesbian teams. I like the teams. I like the competetion, but I hate the showing of the gays / lesbians having trouble. Or the bull dike or fem acting gay to a point of hurting to watch the show.

By the way Readers, my close friend had their cousin participate in the Amazing Race recently.

Until the next time

Down and Dirty, Baby!

Greetings Readers

At my current age I have noticed certain things through out the years. Just in the past year I am assuming I have come to notice things I never noticed before.

What I want to bring up and talk about is a few commercials I have seen on TV of various cleaning supplies. Squirting mops, pads that “click off” toilet cleaners, a shower cleaner that auto cleans your shower somehow, a carpet cleaner that you squirt, brush once (according to the commercial) and clean (yes that easy! – apparently) and a remote control vacuum cleaner.

Wow. What ever happened to getting down and dirty when cleaning, Baby?! Back in the day when I was growing up I learned to clean up the shower stall/tub with a hand brush, I learned to wash dishes by hand, I learned to get on my hands and knees and scrub the tiled floors with a hand brush also.

Matter of fact, I picked up dog shit without needing a sign to indicate to clean up after my pet back in the day. I also learned to wipe surfaces not standing on my two feet. Get a stepladder; stand on chair to reach those high out reach places. Get down on your knees and scrub the floor. How much is liquid going to so on a dirty floor going to do? What if the stain needs to be scrubbed clean? Are you going to let the liquid set and wait until the liquid penetrates the stain? Meanwhile, you could have been done by getting on your knees, apply pressure to a hand brush or a rag and wipe clean that stain in 7/8 the time for the liquid cleaner to work “its magic.”

Sure Readers, these new gadgets are apparently make cleaning easier, in my view, are helping America get lazier and perhaps contributing to the overweight Americans. Readers! By no way am I implying this is the cause, but perhaps the not getting yourself dirty may make others not get dirty from doing other things that you need to get down and dirty.

Such as changing a flat tire. I was watching the past Amazing Race season and on the show there was a black dating couple and they got a flat tire. Fuck me. The man just looked at the tire from different angles to see the flat tire as if he could not believe the tire was flat. Not once did he touch the flat tire with his hands, matter of fact, not one finger. Nor did he even open the trunk to get the jack (and perhaps spare tire.) He did yell out to his woman to flag down another vehicle while closely looking at the flat tire from different angles. Who knows how long he just looked at the flat tire, but the next scene shows that person they flagged down was changing the flat tire, while the black guy watched what he was doing. Readers. Come one. A man needs to know how to change a flat tire. What I mean, in my book if you cannot change a flat tire then you are not a man if you are a man that does not know how to change a tire.

Again I know that the Soprano’s was a fictional TV show, but when Tony and A.J. got a flat tire in Tony’s SUV A.J. immediately suggested that they call Triple A (AAA) to change the flat tire. Tony looks at A.J. and gives him the “what the fuck look” and gets angry and proceeds to tell A.J. he is going to change the tire, from what I remember in that one episode.

Getting back to the cleaning of the house. Get yourself a bucket of hot water, a bottle of Pine sol and dish gloves if you want and start cleaning for yourself. Get yourself on your knees and scrub. Don’t rely on a “squirting” mop. Or a disposable toilet cleaner. Damn. Get a rag. Get some paper towels and starting cleaning like Mr. Clean is looking over your shoulder. Use bleach for the toilet. Ajax the tub / shower. Windex the mirrors and windows – or a water and white vinegar mixture.

I know it is a dirty job, but what’s a little effort into cleaning? You will feel good about yourself for doing the job entirely yourself. You will smell the cleanliness of your job. After all, I feel good about cleaning once I see I did the job that I did not want to do, but had to do. After all the cleaning is done go take a shower and then you will come out as clean as you cleaned up and you will notice and smell the cleanliness of your cleaning job(s).

I have to say that seeing those commercials on TV I really wonder about us American and how much that is having an effect on the younger generation.

In closing Readers, not that you care, but if I am over a girl’s/woman’s house I will look under the sink in the kitchen and faucet to see if there are cleaning supplies. After all, if I notice a woman who does not have any cleaning products is something I should worry about since I do care about how clean I want and tend to get at my humble abode. I do not want someone who may be living in filth. Of course a little filth is okay, but if I see no signs of being clean then that is red flag in my book.

Oh another thing if any of you readers use a shower liner spend the extra 5 to 15 dollars for a new shower liner if you need a new shower liner.

Okay, okay, okay. I will stop now. I just wanted to talk about this subject since this was something that I noticed and wanted to blog about.

I could be unique on this subject Readers, but this is what I wanted to say on this subject.

Until the next time

First Snowfall of Autumn

Greetings Readers

If I am thinking clearly then today is/was the first snowfall of autumn this year. Sure, we have had some frost and hard frost, but no real accumulation of snow in Denver, Colorado.

I have to say that I was skeptical of snow actually falling in my area of South of Denver, but as I got up and looked out the window this morning – I immediately thought to myself “that’s fucking great.” I am sure that it was not real cold, but I did not want to deal with snow – at all. With that frame of mind there was no way I was going to bike the entire way to work. No reason, I just did not want to.

So, with the snow falling I decided to wear my bike shorts and that’s it. I figured that the air was warm enough and not terribly too cold for me to put on my long cycling pants. Again, it was just the state of mind I was in that morning. I did shove my long cycling pants into my backpack for use when I go home from work that night.

And it did not help that I was hung over from the night of drinking.

So, if you have seen or clicked the blog picture post for today you can see my “winter” beater bike at the RTD bus stop. By the time I got the bus stop my brakes were iced over and useless. I was using my infamous “Fred Flintstone” foot stop.

A few people saw me riding into work and commented on me riding with shorts only. Yes, it was cold, but not cold. Very manageable to me.

I had heard it was going to be in the 30’s this day and to me that is very manageable to ride in. What I did not hear that is was going to be windy. Fuck me. Oh yes, when I got off work at about 4:30 or so the wind was blowing gustily and I only had my wind breaker, bandanna on my head and thinsulate gloves on. And I had to go to the bank to get some spending cash.

After all, I had to go to Qdoba’s to see my Qdoba girl. Though this time around I was not ready since the last time our meeting did not go well, from my point of view.

And that story will be told later when it happens, which I am not sure that it will happen. I am just psyching myself out right now since according to me I had to do what I had to do last week when I saw my Qdoba girl last Friday.

“Principality.”

P.S. Readers for the next Amazing Race I chose the “Frat Boys” to be eliminated. They are not smart and somehow they are making it further and further in the Amazing Race by luck and chance. Well, their luck has to run out - and soon. My co-worker chose the “dating couple” no reasoning behind that she shared with me. But I have to agree that they do seem like the next team that would be the weakest.

The Other Side of Mr. Charley

Greetings Readers

Well, I thought to once more “toot” my own horn (since you know I love to do as much as I can). As you can see from the Blog picture post I got a letter from a vendor indicating to me that my “communication skills” were appreciated.

Oh yes readers, I have been carrying that letter around for the past week. I wanted to put this in my personnel file, but then I thought this just a letter, with a gift certificate, and I am happy enough. I do not need this in personnel file, since this may promote me, which I do not want to happen.

Anyway, I wanted to share this with you Readers. Yes, to show you that the “business” side of me is opposite from what you have read on this blogsite. As I have stated for the record in my blog profile - I am two different people. There is “work” Daryl and then there is “not at work” Daryl.

And I am looking forward to take me and my friend to lunch on behalf of this very nice vendor that I deal with. After all, my friend is the one that does the driving when we go out for lunch each week.

Changing subjects – I think I have finally given away all my Halloween candy. Unfortunately, I did not get the trick or treaters in my neighborhood. And as per my custom I buy full size candy bars to give out as Trick or Treat Candy. I do not believe in the little bars of candy of bags of Halloween candy that us consumers can buy for the trick or treaters.

This past Halloween I was unable to go to ZZ Top so I was going to entertain the trick or treaters. And I have to say that it went well. The trick or treaters, and their parents (the hot moms) remembered me from last year. “Oh, you are the full size candy bar guy” or “you are the bike rider in our neighborhood” and I smile and agree. After all, one of those hot moms, if single, might come by. It has not happen, yet, but it might.

I think, that since Halloween was on a Friday this year it kept some of the Trick or Treaters from coming out. Perhaps their parents had plans on a Friday. I do not know. But in my opinion I think that is the reason why I did not get a lot of costumed children.

I used my bike wear as my costume and should anyone ask who I am I would say that I am either Greg Lemond or Jan Ulrich. Should someone say, “Are you L.A.?” I would say quickly – no.

P.S. Readers I lost my first bet of this Amazing Race Season. My friend chose “the divorcees” and she won. Urgh. I chose the “separated couple” since they had a speed bump to complete before resuming the Amazing Race, but they were able to recover nicely and not come in last. Oh, my friend had the taste of victory and she said “ah.”

I could not help to laugh with her. Hah hah.

It's On Like Donkey Kong

Greetings Readers

And so goes the story… This did not dawn on me until I got home and was getting ready to eat my dinner at my dining table. And that was when I thought about what I just did not do and hung my head after acknowledging what I just did. Meaning – I just could not fucking believe that I just what I did

I said, “Have a nice trip” and waved goodbye to Debbie and then walked out the store with me high on Cloud 9. I was walking an inch or two taller. I felt very good about seeing Debbie again. I was happy. I walked my bike slowly in front of the Front windows in case Debbie was looking out the front windows. I did not look into the windows to see if I could see Debbie again. I got on my bike and rode home.

Perfect right? Not.

Flashback – About three years when I first saw and got to know Debbie at the other store I remember going to that Qdoba’s and then taking my lunch to the front window where there are seats facing outwards. You know how they have that bar type tables and stools at the front window. So, I often did eat my lunch at the front window and watch the world go by while I enjoyed my lunch. Every now and then I would see Debbie come by and wipe down the areas around where I was eating and also wipe down the stools. Sometimes we chatted or made small remarks to each other. It was kind of our thing. She got to see me more and I too got to see her more and alone. As opposed to her co-workers next to her and me worrying about saying something dumb in front of her and her co-workers. I remembered her Pink belt she wore and somehow that belt made her look good.

Also, since I did not know her name I had to refer to her as the girl who wears the Pink belt

Back to the present, there I was sitting at my dining room table with my head bowed just realizing how I just missed another opportunity to talk/see Debbie again. Why in the fuck did I not eat at Qdoba’s?! Gosh darn I feel like George Costanza – Lord of the Idiots. I am pretty sure that she would have come over to wherever I would be sitting and visit me. I just know it. Somehow I forgot that I/we had chatted in the past when an opportunity presented itself to do so.

I would have to say it was a perfect moment. It was after 5:00 P.M. on a Friday and the place was not busy, yet. Debbie and two other people were manning the front counter; meanwhile there were the cooks who were busy cooking. And the there were two or three employees that looked like they were taking a break so that probably means they were not busy yet and perhaps more could have happened if I would have taken a seat in the dining table in Qdoba’s.

Hindsight. I know this, but seeing Debbie and more than I ever expected to see I just was not thinking. I know Readers – “What’s new.” Right?

Changing Subjects – I won a bet. The Amazing Race bet that I and my friend do every time a new season of Amazing Race starts. The week we do not bet since we have to get introduced to the team and see how they act and interact.

The second week we usually start betting, however we missed doing the betting the second week so we had to bet on Friday to see which team was going to get eliminated.

Since it was initial betting we had to do the coin toss to see who chooses first. I lost and that meant my friend chose first and picked the team who I was going to pick – the southern blonde belles. I did not have another team in mind and I only recorded the first two episodes without watching the episodes.

Readers, I have been in mood lately and I just was not in the mood to watch the Amazing Race. So, I had no idea how the teams were or acted. I did watch the first ten minutes of the first episode where each team is introduced and a brief summary about them is mentioned.

With that in mind I remember seeing the gaming “Geeks.” They coined themselves “Geeks” not me. I remember them talking about how they loved game and puzzles and then of course I saw them playing Guitar Hero. I laughed, but I was laughing at the Guitar Hero and I think I remember them saying they were a force to watch out for.

So, when my friend chose the Southern Belles I decided I am going to choose the Geeks. And this is only because they were so confident about themselves and they referred to themselves as Geeks. With that I knew that confidence about being “gaming Gods” I knew they were going to get eliminated.

Sunday evening about 15 minutes into the show I knew that I had won the bet. I cheered and “Oh yeah” and then when I came in Monday morning – there was my winnings – A Bottle of Coca-Cola.

The sweet taste of victory

Until the next time

Another Saturday Post

Greetings Readers

I have really nothing to blog about.

I did visit a particular blog before I started on my blog and I see that this person has another issue in their world.

I am not sure that I should even start with the topic, if it is one. Apparently this blogger can not get over the fact that when the blogger deletes a phone number from their cell phone this blogger must ask the other person for their phone number once more. Now, the other person in question has deleted this blogger's phone number from their cell phone also. For whatever reason - the reason is irrelevant.

Now, the blogger states that they ask for the other person's phone number once more because the blogger deleted the phone number from their cell phone for not being "friends" anymore. The blogger told the "truth" - in the bloggers's eyes - Da Truth. The blogger feels strongly that the other person should not lie and states that the other people usually say something to the effect that "oops I got a new phone and I lost your phone number." or some other "lie" according to this blogger.

Who in the fuck cares. Really. This particular blogger still thinks the world revolves around them. So the other person "lies" about losing the blogger's phone number on their cell phone. Who cares about that.

Hot Damn! If I had to get high and mighty about a lie told to me - this particular lie would be a pinprick of light in the whole universe. Really, does your view about a person who says they "lost" your phone number really matter? The lie I would worry about is when your friend(s) says they are too sick to go out and then by chance you hear/see them out on the town. Now, that would be something that I would be concerned about. But "lost your phone number"? Come on. Grow up. The blogger posted this was "Silly" and something about being political, but the truth of the matter it is fucking ridiculous.

This blogger felt it was a topic to post on, but in the whole fucking grand scheme of things the blogger is being fucking lazy once more! The blogger does not have the audacity to get a pen/pencil and write the phone number down in a notebook, diary, post it note, anything that the person can write on. And this leads to the blogger's friends with cell phone - they can not write the phone number(s) down? I guess you readers can probably guess the blogger's intelligence, age or inexperience in life. Take your pick.

As I just finished this post I am thinking about giving this particular blogger a name so I can reference the blogger without typing "this blogger" or "the author". Okay give me a few minutes... almost there... yeah... oh yeah... Got it. The Ignorant Senor(ita). I am even going to add this as a label and you can follow the points of topics that occur in this Ignorant Senor(ita)'s blog that I care to point out to you readers. Of course, this is not the first time I have questioned the blogger's posts. Now, you will able to click on the Ignorant Senor(ita) label and see all the past topics I have brought up.

And this past week I found out that the Amazing Race 12 - starts this Sunday. It's On! With my-coworker. Let the betting begin. "It's on!". Below are the teams for this season's race.

Kynt & Vyxsin
Jennifer & Nathan
Ronald & Christina
Shana & Jennifer
Azaria & Hendekea
Lorena & Jason
Nicolas & Donald
Ari & Staella
Marianna & Julia
Rachael & TK
Kate & Pat

In me and my co-worker's betting - there is no betting on the first episode. After that - it's on!

Until the next time

What is up with the Damn M&M's ?!

Greetings Readers

I do not eat the Blue M&M’s. Period.

I do not have to tell you the reason why I do not consume the Blue M&M’s. I do not have to give an explanation to anyone. Nor do I “owe” you readers an explanation. I have my reasons. I can tell you - go fuck yourself. I can tell you it is none of your god-damn business. I can and have the right to ask you why do you care. I can tell you there are more portentous items than why I do not eat the Blue M&M’s.

I do not care if the M&M’s are plain, peanuts, peanut butter, or dark chocolate. I just do not eat the Blue M&M’s. I am not saying that I have not eaten a Blue M&M in X amount of days. Sure it happens that I might grab a handful of M&M’s and eat them all without segregating the M&M’s by color. But very, very rarely does that happen.

Yes readers, I divide my M&M’s by color before I eat them. And! I am not the only person on planet Earth that does this segregation. Matter of fact, the person who instigated this blog – LaMont does the separation process that I just mentioned. I am not sure if he does this subconsciously, but I was witness to this incident.

I do have a reason why I do this particular ritual, but I do not owe anyone a reason why. I will admit to you readers though this would not be an uncommon element in my existence. I am very, very analytical about most factors in my life. There has to be an unfluctuating order in my life and any “chaos” that I can elude - I will do. Hah hah. Readers, there are others who would declare “Damn that is one fucked up guy to do that!” You readers are entitled to your opinion and I would think not one thought about what you think. Believe me, there are many things other people do that are more fucked up than what I do. Hah hah.

You bet readers. How many of you readers put your pen in your mouth at work? Well, consider this. I bet none of you put your pen in a place that no one would use it by chance. Perhaps leave the pen laying on your desk/table, or put in the pen holder when not using the pen, or someone borrows your pen for a moment when you are not present. Who knows what/where that pen might be picked up by someone. Could that person put a portion of your pen in their mouth? Or chew on the pen cap. Perhaps the person who borrows that pen washed their hands in the restroom, but did not use a paper towel to open the restroom door thus acquiring other germs? Or maybe that person wiped their nose with some part of their hand / fingers. You just do not know or do not know to care.

I am thinking about all those things, but I bet most of you readers are not. So – who is more fucked up? Will I sleep better for watching myself about those things I mentioned? You bet. Will you readers sleep better not even thinking about that? You bet. No one is right or wrong in their view. We all have heard that phrase “what you don’t know can’t hurt you.” Well, what I know that you don’t know may hurt you. Think about that the next time you use your pen.

Getting back to the M&M’s. In my opinion – yes, there is a slight taste/texture to each of the M&M’s colors. I could care less about what the chemical make up of each color is. For example, I think I heard that a color red dye had a hazardous substance to that particular number back in the day. There may or may not a reason, but I organize my colors into each of their own color piles. No, I do not have a particular color that I must start with or end eating with. Just as long as I eat all the same color before moving onto the next pile of color.

Again readers, I do not condone the people who eat M&M’s what I would call - recklessly. These are most likely the same people who do not think about other things I do not take for granted. How filthy money is. How dirty restrooms are. What could be / is on the salt & pepper shakers at the restaurants. Who sneezes/coughs without covering their mouth. Or they sneeze in their hands and then grab a door handle. Yuck, yuck and yuck!

These are things that I think of constantly. Do I let that ruin/lead my life? No. I do take whatever steps to avoid those things. Yet, there is the extreme. There are people that have to wash their hands 20 to 50 times in one day. Or people that have to check the door locks 10 times or more just to be sure that they locked the door. There are others that have to use a new bar of soap each time they wash their hands. You could say OCD. Would I? I would not say it was not OCD, but I also would not say it is OCD. I definitely do not consider myself an OCD.

Do not concern yourself about why I separate my M&M’s into their own solid color of piles. And do not worry why I do not eat the Blue M&M’s. I have my reasons and they are none of your fucking business.

You can take that a face value. You can take that personally. You can laugh at me. You can think whatever you want about me. Does not matter. I sleep like a baby who goes to sleep content.

You readers can ponder, wonder how this came all about. Who knows. I can tell you readers I was fortunate to be raised in a lifestyle wealthier than most of you readers did when growing up. I did get what I always wanted… well I would have to say that I almost did get everything I wanted. I was not spoiled, but did have the benefit of having a preference about things, in general. Was I born with a silver spoon? Perhaps. Do I currently eat with silver ware? Oh yes! Only the best in that department.

If I did not like a certain food when growing up, I had the choice not to eat that food. There was always something else to be eaten or could be made for me to eat. Or I just did not eat at all.

I remember this tidbit from my youth – approximately 1st to 3rd grade for me. I loathed green olives, but I loved the red thing that I could slurp out of the green olive. So, my parents bought me jar of olives and let me only eat the red portion of the olive. I did not have to eat the green olive itself. That was a choice. Not stuck up. To a child that is choice and not a “problem”. Also back in the day there was no one saying “there is a whole village in Africa that is going hungry and you just threw away a week’s worth of food that could feed an entire village on the Serengeti.

Presently, I do imply that saying. Famine is everywhere and I hate wasting food. Now, I really do know that there is a starving village out there in Africa.

The Blue M&M’s that I do not eat, I often give away. If not, then yes I will throw away the Blue M&M’s. Those Blue M&M’s are my leftovers. Those Blue M&M’s are my “rejects”. Those Blue M&M’s are not good enough for me to eat.

Do not bite the hand that feeds you or offers you a gift. Yes, a gift in my view, but in your eyes you may see that as “my leftovers.” I do give the Blue M&M’s to the fortunate / unfortunate people and if you decide to throw them away – so be it. Not my concern. I could care less. At least I was thinking about other people than just me. I every now and then do show some non-selfish qualities about myself.

As I stated in my opening line and will use as my ending line - “I do not eat the Blue M&M’s. Period.”

Changing topics, if you readers can not guess from the blog pic that graces this blog, well I have made the community news blog front page. I guess my "Soldier Statue" blog from this blog was something worthy of front page news. As my favorite Simpson would say again - Woo Hoo!

And the Season Finale of the Amazing Race - All Stars. A very tough choice to pick a winner from the three that are left. I think that almost all of us faithful viewers do not care for any of the teams that are left to win the million dollars. My co-worker chose the "Beauty Queens" and I chose "Charla & Mirna" I agree with my co-worker that the Beauty Queens have an 80 % chance to win tonight. Yet, something inside of me is rooting for Charla. Charla has so many things and because of her size I see her as the underdog. As with most "underdogs" I want them to finish first, to win. I could care less about Mirna.

Ivan Basso Investigated

Greetings Readers

This is that time of the month that we have to say farewell and start another new month tomorrow. The month of May. Four months have passed in the year 2007.

Readers, I lost two bets this weekend. Both of my co-workers "scored" off me this weekend. The "Gay Guys" lost the Amazing Race and the NY Rangers (NHL - Playoffs) lost on Friday night. I guess this was just not my weekend to win any bets.

So, next Sunday is the Finale of the Amazing Race. Down to three teams. Depending on who picks who to win there may not be a bet. If we both agree that the winner is the same team to be picked then the bet will not be valid. It would not be fair to pick another team, just for the sakes of picking a winner on the final episode. I am thinking it will be between the Beauty Queens and Eric & Danielle. Charla & Mindra - I really do not think that they have a chance. I am only going by this because if it comes down to a foot race Charla has no chance in hell (because of her size).

Well, today's picture is of Ivan Basso. I am not sure when the news broke, but I know that I found out about this last week. Ivan Basso has left "Team Discovery" amidst a re-opening of the drug scandal that has plagued some of the Tour de France riders from last year. Again readers, I am not sure of the facts, but I heard that Ivan Basso was to be the team captain at the Tour de France this year, but now since this has happened I do not have a clue who will be leading this team. If Levi is with Team Discovery I think he is the most logical choice. Granted, I have no clue who is on Team Discovery, since I could care less about Team Discovery

Ivan
is somebody I respect in the cycling world and I have started following him for the past two or three years. I do not know what to make of this new news, but I will wait for whatever happens later.

You
know readers, with Sheryl and that"one tissue" idea has gotten a lot bigger news, or perhaps it was big news, when I found out about it, but it was all over the news this weekend. Dang, Sheryl is going to have to ride this one out until some other news come to light about something else so Sheryl can get off the "topics to discuss" band Wagon.

And I think I am just about done with the M&M topic I mentioned last week. Probably nothing, but something I had an interest, or felt compelled to write down and comment about. Sort of defending my view, but also telling you, the world, get over it. I have my "quarks" as well as you do. I will however tell you readers that I have more "quarks" than you so, get over it. Thhhhppppptttt!!! As Bill the cat would say

Wednesday's Thoughts

Greetings Readers

I guess I forgot to tell you readers that the Amazing Race bet was a draw between me and my co-worker, since there was a non-elimination round. I could not believe it. However, the past couple of episodes have "dragged" one way too lone. I do not think that most of us readers really care for one team in general that are left. Anyway, this past Sunday I chose "the Beauty Queens" and my co-worker chose the girl/boy team. Anyway, we should have been done with the amazing race now, but no. There were basically two non-eliminations rounds - one after another.

I turned in three of my bikes for the annual "free" lifetime check up yesterday. I had scheduled the appointment for four bikes, but decided to do three. And I guess I am good to go on the rest since they really do not need a tune-up. The bikes that I turned in were 2 from three years ago and the oldest bike I have from the late nineties, I think. I had made the appointment three weeks ago and of course of all days it had to rain and snow on the day that I had to take my bikes in for my scheduled appointment. Urgh!

Readers, you know that I love watching the Deadliest Season on the Discovery Channel, but I think they have finally succumbed to blatant “false”preview commercialism. As I informed you readers last week on the next week’s episode a man goes overboard. Well, so there I was watching the new episode and I had already knew the outcome and situation regarding last night’s episode so I was sort of not interested, so to speak. But I was watching and waiting for the man overboard scene/segment. 15 minutes go by, nothing. 30 minutes-nothing. But again, the “promise” of the man overboard. Well, with less than five minutes left in the program – finally the man overboard. However, what I had saw on another show basically covered what was shown on the Discovery Channel. Not one surprise.

Anyway, I felt “jipped”. I knew better to expect this event in the middle of the show. They had done this at the beginning of the third season. The big hoopla was the sinking of a ship and rescue. Again-the whole show went by and then the last five minutes of the event were shown. Then, they had the audacity to cut it off and show it next week. Which they did for a full 15 minutes and included more of the events from the first episode into the second episode. We viewers got ripped off. Seeing the second episode of the third season with the first 15 minutes devoted to what we viewers saw in the first episode was a rip off. There are other things in the show that we viewers want to know. If Discovery wanted the recap – they have should have kept it to five minutes or so. Since the show is about 43 minutes long without the commercial and they had used up 15 minutes to the rescue show in the first episode. Do the math and you see how much we could have seen on other events/ships.

I hate to say this readers, from here on out if you want to know the “big” deal on the following week’s episode watch the last 10 to 5 minutes of the show. You will not miss a thing. Beside interaction of the crew, and other problem that take 30 minutes to show on TV. Will I do that? No. I am a faithful watcher, but my loyalty with Discovery Channel is no longer there.

Happy Belated Easter

Greetings People

Most things change, but some things do not change.

This weekend was pretty much a stay-inside period since snow and some rain fell all weekend.

I woke up Easter morning to the sight of lightly falling snow with an occasional breeze. I was actually looking forward to going out to get the Sunday Paper. Meaning I was ready to do some biking in the snow. The snow flakes were big and fluffy. I got out on my mountain bike and proceeded up to Arapahoe and Quebec area were I usually get my paper from. After getting the paper I went to Safeway and see what looked good to buy/eat. I had to shop smart since I am really low on funds. So, I bought some salad stuff and some soup for later this week.

The Amazing Race was a draw. I did not lose nor did I win, so that was good, since I am down a coke once more. Only four more teams to go.

A new episode of The Riches is tonight. I am excited since the previews makes this episode look good.

"Rebecca" is the new "woman" in my life. We are waiting for the sun to shine and weather to clear up before we go out.

Other than that nothing else new going on. Sorry readers, I guess I have nothing else to blog about. I do have one subject, but a lunch break is not enough time to get into the subject.

Until the next time

Pre-Happy Easter Blog

Greetings People

The team on the Amazing Race that I have chosen to lose are "The Beauty Queens". My opponent has chosen the team of Danny & Oswald. Once more the bet is a coke for me and a sprite for her. I thought about choosing Mirna & Chandra, but in the back of my mind they are going to pull an upset this Sunday.

The weather is cool today, Had some rain this morning which turned into a slight drizzle with a couple of flakes here and there.

The Final 9 Episodes of the Sopranos start this weekend and I am unable to watch since I do not have HBO.

Have a Happy Easter readers, me I guess I am alone this Easter. I was unable to leave town and my parents can not leave due to the two new calfes.

Well, readers I have nothing else so...

Opening Day for the Colorado Rockies

Greetings People

The joke was on me yesterday. And not the funny kind of joke.

I woke up yesterday morning planning to run the Platte River Half Marathon. I was getting ready to head out when I noticed that my front tire had a flat tire. No big deal. I decided I will use my winter bike. Well, Heidi had 2 flats of her own. I was not even going to take Andrea out - too expensive to leave in the area I was heading to. My Mountain bike was not going to work since that is too much work to pedal before a half Marathon. Shit. I had to fix Tracey's flat and time was of the essence. I was muttering and cussing left and right.

Finally got out the door and headed to downtown Littleton. Well, 50 yards from downtown Littleton I got double flat when I hit a rock in the road. I did not see the rock since the sun and shadows were on that part of the road. Damn. damn. So, I had to walk the bike the rest of the way to downtown Littleton. I locked up, then headed to the suppose area of registration. Well, I got the registration area about 8:52 AM and I was told registration was closed. I said "are you serious?!" They said yes. I was not mad, but sort of perturb. Mostly from the double flat. Well, I did not argue, nor say anything else. I headed out and went back to my bike to fix my tires.

I was getting mad once more that I had gotten the two flat tires and then thinking about not running was finally getting me riled up - pissed off.

Oh readers, I forgot to mention, I was pissed off before noticing the flat tire at home. My Ipod somehow locked up and I could not use the Ipod so that had pissed me off first thing this morning. had I bought a new Tiesto CD and loaded up the night before.

So, I managed to fix one tire and then I saw that I had no more tire patches. No more. Oh boy oh boy. Furious does not even come close. I had to take the RTD bus back to home. Mad. Mad. Mad.

Four different things all happening in an hour an a half.

Back at home I cooled off while watching a movie and fixing my flat.

And yes - Opening day for Colorado Rockies.

I lost another Amazing Race on Sunday - urgh!

I got to go people.

Until the next time

An Alternate Motherland

Greetings Readers

Okay, for this coming Amazing Race on Sunday. The team that I have chosen to lose (get eliminated) is the team of Oswald and Danny and my opponent has chosen Joe & Bill to lose. I really did not have a clue who to chose this time around. It is starting to get hard to predict. I think what is making me have a hard time to chose is that these teams are thinking differently since they all have played before and they sort of know how to proceed even those this is a new Amazing Race. I guess what I am saying is that Charla & Mirna came in first twice! Uchenna & Joyce came in last, but it was a non-elimination round. So, you see readers there are teams that are doing the unexpected. So wish the best for Danny and Oswald to lose.

Well, the weather is sunny, but I think that the temps is suppose to be in the 40's today. Not a bad ride this morning. Kind of cold, but I got warmed up after a mile and half.

Readers, I was surfing the net last night and I happened to visit Natalie Merchant's website, which I have not visit in such a long time. I was clicking around when I happened upon a section where she wrote something about the album/CD Motherland. Yes, we faithful listeners read the liner notes when the CD was issued and know how Natalie felt at the time. However, in the section I stumbled upon Natalie decided the time was right for to release and say what was planned for "Motherland" Wow. There are about 20 pictures and a brief written intro about Motherland. One may say this is something that she made up/thought up after the attacks in Manhattan, but it is not. The first three pictures of the proposed album/CD cover was wow. Well, it did affect me in a way. Not bad nor good, but on how close a relationship could be formed between this and the attack. More so to the bad, since any publicity relating to that could be bad, from the general public view, in my humble opinion.

Then, there were various other photos, same subject, but not very interesting. Sure, the subject matter of the photos were still the same, but could be taken differently than from the music of the CD.

I guess what is now "etched" in my memory now is the proposed cover picture of Motherland. I will never look at my Motherland CD/Poster without thinking of the other picture that is now all I can draw upon. And it is not the smiling face of Natalie Merchant sitting under/in front of an Apple tree. Sorry readers, I can not describe the picture nor do I want to. Obviously you can find this bit of information on her website www.nataliemerchant.com If you are a follower of Natalie please discover on your own, as it should be, when you want to find something about your favorite artist/musician.

The last bit of info on her website is that she is having another album released in April. the 16th I think.

This blog will most likely be the last for March and I want to thank you for reading another month of my blogging.

Tuesday with Mr Charley

Greetings People

I saw, perhaps, my new bike that I might buy this week. After seeing the price, plus the sales tax for that area, I have calculated the cost to be $ 1,386.03 It really is not a bad deal for last year's model. The new models are on the way and they need to clear out the "old" stock. She is black, some carbon, Ultegra componets, Easton rims. I guess I have a lot to think about.

I finally bought a CD by Wagner with "Ride of the Valkyeres" Pretty Cool

Prison Break was okay. Not bad, but not very interesting. Although there is Michael in Panama and he is standing outside the hotel where "Teddy" is staying. He is trying to be inconspicuous by hiding behind a pillar or plant (I can not remember) and he is wearing a dark blue hoodie. Get the f--- out of here! He is Panama, which I am sure that the weather is quite warm. Also, in the scene of the show - there are people in pastels, whites, shorts, "cabana" wear and then you have Michael in a dark blue hoodie with only his face showing trying to be inconspicuous. Sorry the scene just does not work. Hah hah.

Woo-hoo! Yes, I won the Amazing Race bet and my team I chose to lose lost! Woo hoo! That was so great. I won my coke back (I lost weeks ago). Sure was delicious to drink. You know readers a free coke tastes much better than a coke you bought.

The name of the bull that I named is "Say Boo-yah!" Not too good, but at least I stayed away from using any weather words, alcohol words, including "slinger" in the name, or having any color reference in the name. There were some fictitious names I would would liked to use, but I am not sure that would infringe upon copyrighted material.

I did not get to see Lily this morning - nope, not not on the episode this morning.

Naming the Versus Bull

Greetings People

I guess I am making a quick entry since I had to log in on the net to name the bull. The naming of the bull is the "versus bull" that the program has the viewers name their bull with a name. Anyway, I have been thinking about this for about a month and I just could not think of a name that someone else would come up with. I thought about one word name up to three word name. So, here I am on the day of the deadline (for submission) and I still can not come up with a decent (unique) name. So, the name that I chose... well I guess I better tell you readers tomorrow. Just in case my name gets tossed for duplication. You never know readers I could have the name and could be disqualified for whatever reason. I trust my faithful readers, but not the "others" who may stumble upon my blog. The prize is two tickets to Las Vegas for the PBR 2007 World Finals.

So, while I was still contemplating I decided to look up a name that I see a woman on a show every morning before I leave for work. The show is Namasta on Fit tv and I just want to see what "Google" has. Yes, that is a picture of her - Lily Goncalves - and I have to say something about her just catches my eye. Of course, one of the things is that she is blonde. I also like her smile and eyes when she does smile on the show.

Readers - I have Terry and Ian as the couple to be eliminated from the Amazing Race. I have a "coca cola" riding on the outcome. Of course, if the "Beauty Queens" get eliminated I am out of a "sprite". Hah hah.

I had my first breakfast of the year outside on my patio this morning. What a beautiful morning after Saturday's rain that fell almost all day. About 6 PM last evening the sun finally made an appearance and what a nice evening to see the sun shining ever so brightly for those final minutes of the day.

Hope you readers are having a nice Sunday. I know that I am

P.S. Readers - I read that the 2007 Sony Ericsson Open has third round action, but not on tv. Apparently, today there is Sharapova vs Venus Williams match. Could be interesting, but I am unable to watch on tv.

"Extra" Sales Tax in Lonetree

Greetings People

The thighs were a "bit" tight when I woke this morning. I was able to walk the "tightness" out this morning and the bike ride into work was good. Pretty nice morning, hardly any wind blowing, and the sun was just coming up over the horizon.

Nothing to report or to blog today. There is some news, but nothing I want to comment about nor bring to light.

Amazing Race - The team that I wanted to be eliminated - was Eliminated on Sunday. Woo Hoo!

No Prison Break until next Monday

Roger Federer lost a tennis match which has broken his string of win events somehow. Sorry readers, I do not know how/what/really about what was broken, since I could care less. I read the info in yesterday's news. I did read that Hingis advanced to the next round.

Target in Lonetree, CO. Well, I am not sure how much you readers, consumers pay attention to sales tax, but I for one do not want to pay any more sales tax than I have to! Yes, I look at those receipts and ask questions. I will try and pay the lowest taxes, if possible. However, in the instance yesterday I needed something from the Lonetree Target that I could not get at the Englewood Target. Therefore, I had to succumb to pay the extra tax that is assessed. Granted, the purchase was only around $ 10.00, but if you were to purchase a higher amount the tax will be higher. I work in Lonetree, but by no means am I going to help pay for something that will not benefit me. Damn straight I can think that way. I think Denver is the worst in taxes is what I heard at one time. Getting back to Lonetree - I think the "extra" tax is 7 percent. Again, I was bitter about paying the extra tax on the item I needed, but had to. I knew about the tax, but did not want to remind myself about the "extra" tax so I did not look at the receipt.

Anyway, thought to blog about that readers since I really have nothing to write about. I guess you can say nothing has pissed me off nor do I have anything to be happy about currently.

The Happiest Guy...I ever knew...

Greetings People

I guess the title of this blog says it all. I would almost quote the Depeche Mode's song "The Happiest Girl. I ever knew...", but I am not a goil, I'm a guy.

Yesterday, I had another follow up to my eyes and I got the best, er bestest, news I have heard in a long time. I am to wear contacts once more! Oh my gosh. I could not believe it. Granted, me and my eye doctor have to monitor for the next two weeks and make sure that my issues do not start up once more.

As of 12:15 PM yesterday afternoon I was wearing contacts again and I celebrated by buying another computer game yesterday.

So, this morning, roughly 57 days later I picked up my Oakleys off my bathroom counter, washed and dried them off and then put them on for the first time in almost two months. I was so myself and I think I will be more and more later today. I do not have to worry about my vision being impaired partly, nor do I have to worry about pushing my eyeglasses back up on my face.

I, I.... was shaking so badly after putting in the first contact yesterday I could not put in the other side. I had to have my doctor do it for me. Shaking with joy. And not because lack of caffeine. Now, I am walking around with a smile on my face like I just had sex. Yes, that is happiness for me.

I even made the effort to go for a ride yesterday and I was so confident, since I did not have my eye glasses. Whereas, I have not been riding since I have been wearing my eyeglasses. The ride felt so good. No, I did not put my Oakleys on yesterday - I was still so happy and filled with glee that I did not even bother going home to get the Oakleys. I even cleaned my other 6 Oakley lens so I can start using those, since I will be wearing my Oakleys full-time.

Now, switching gears, the Ironman Hawaii that was on t.v. this weekend. The show was good, but it lacked something and I think it was the mood of the music that was wrong. The music and format has been changing for the past two years from the ominous mood music they used. Now, the show has "beat" music and "pick me up" music, which is fine, but the Ironman for us watchers is whether or not they finish, not whether they come in first or not. Yes, it is a race, but in the years of the t.v showings it is about finishing the Ironman and may be not finishing.

I did not cry or tear up through out the show, but I did when the Team Hoyt did not make the cut-off time. We faithful watchers know that there time was up a couple of years ago, but father time has come and taken the toll on Team Hoyt. I did not tear up for that moment, but did thinking about what has transpired in the past 7 years for them.

The last one that I really shed some tears on was the blind guy being lead, by a string, by his guide/friend. The blind guy had a number, his guide did not. This guide did the Ironman Hawaii for this blind guy, probably his friend. However, the guide did not have a number nor did the Ironman Hawaii issue him a number. Fair is fair, but I cried for the guide, because this guy finished the Ironman and he got no recognition of any sort, that I could see. That is dedication my friends! That is loyalty and more importantly, that is what you would, should do, for someone who needs help. Put yourself out for someone who needs it more. That is complete opposite of being selfish and with me being me that is the ultimate sacrifice for yourself in competing. Even the ABC tv replay had no other in depth info was told about this guide.

In closing, with the Ironman Hawaii 2006 I am glad that Norman Stadler won once more. I am also glad he did not fucking meltdown like he did from last year. I have had a meltdown like that before and he acted the same way I did. Natache Baadman had a hard time this year, but I am glad to see her smile as she was coming down the Queen K. There was nothing about Lori, except in the very beginning of the swim. Her smile is also very contagious for me. The stories were okay, but nothing compelling for me to get really emotional about. The Blazeman, I am glad I was able to follow him last year and to see someone remember him this year.

Alright folks, once more I have taken some time from your life and I thank you for sitting a spell with me for a bit.

P.S. I am glad that the "Models" won the Amazing Race. I wished the "sistas" would of, but I knew, yes knew, from the start that they had no chance to make a run for first place

P.S.S. The Nip / Tuck finale is the Tuesday. I am hoping for a good one and I do hope we get to see another season. Rumor mill - Joely will not be back, per one of the tabloids I saw in the grocery store. Nip / Tuck for me interesting and enjoyable.

Until the next time
